I love painting in mini version and enjoy the 6×6″ canvas. My challenge was to create a cold winter scene with each barn still keeping the warm sun colors. I chose to keep the paintings uncluttered to portray winter quiet.
Tobacco Barn in Snow
I’ve always been fascinated with old barns and North Carolina is filled with old tobacco barns with all of the local history they hold. This tobacco barn leads to our home and I pass it every day. I loved the contrast of the snow with the wonderful rust on the tin covering the barn.

Cow Barn in Snow
The second barn in our snow pair is a wonderful red cow barn against sun gold tinted winter trees. Are the cows in the barn, are they in the field, or will they show up in our painting.

Barns in Snow includes both barns and will begin as a Face Book Live video class on Wed Feb 10, 2021, Tobacco Barn, with the second class on Wed Feb 17, Cow Barn, 11a – 12:30p each day. Classes are offered as weekly classes to allow time for homework and learning. Critiques are encouraged and offered weekly.
Classes are skill oriented where I’ll teach the art theory and technique for each painting. I hope to inspire your creativity while challenging you to increase your knowledge and skills.
After the Live portion the class is available as video if you are unable to attend at the scheduled time or if you would like to take the class at a later date.
