Seminars Coming Up

2015 is an exciting year for seminars at Artful Endeavors.  Four seminars/workshops and all with exciting instructors coming to share their expertise with us.

ArtFling with Gail Schmidt and me is happening very soon, in a little over a week actually. We always have such fun when Gail is here, nice messy, creative fun. Get ready to laugh a lot and wear an apron.

Then our watercolor seminar with Susan Crouch is just at the end of May.  Susan is looking forward to sharing with us and she is such a wealth of information.  Our seminar is full, prep sheets have been sent out and we are ready to paint.

In July Ros Stallcup is here and again the seminar is full with enthusiastic painters. Participants have their preps and photos are posted. The projects this year are extra wonderful. I can’t decide which one I like best and maybe I don’t have to decide because I’ll just paint all of them.

You can see the photos on Ros seminar page on this web site.

Kathie George plans to be here with us in Nov. Check back for an update a little later.

Another Success

What a look of concentration.

Our seminar with Kathie George was full of learning, experimenting, creating, and socializing. We met new friends and welcomed old ones, all wonderfully open and sharing.  Kathie’s teaching helped us to challenge ourselves and the paintings created were wonderful and definitely stretched our creativity.

We played with awesomely colorful dragonflies on Yupo paper. Definitely a new experience. No two paintings turned out even similar.  I’ll have to do some more experimenting with this exciting technique using inks and acrylic paints.

We’re already talking about next year. You’ll most like see more batik back on our schedule plus more exciting mixed media. Kathie is always coming up with something new.

  • Someone has blocked century link/embarqmail from receiving email from Artful Endeavors by labeling us spam. Anyone with one of these email addresses will not be receiving emails from me unless you go to your email provider and tell them you want to receive artfulendeavors@raleigh.twcbc.com emails.  Please pass the word if you know anyone from this provider who is wondering why I am not sending them email any longer. They are missing out on seminar and class information.

Mixed Media with Kathie George in Nov 2014

We have our plans made and registration is open for our seminar with Kathie George coming up Nov 17,18, and 19, 2014!

web-Textured-Window

We’ve gone mixed media this year with texture and acrylics. We’ll play with Yupo paper techniques and texture on watercolor paper.

I know, there’s no batik this year. Our students were so excited about the mixed media projects that we’ve gone that way for this time. And the paintings are so exciting.

The Yupo paper is an entirely new product for us and we’re eager to learn about it.

Dragonfly Done For more information on the Yupo paper check out Kathie’s blog where she introduces us to this fun man made, polypropylene product. And more from Kathie about Yupo.

Here’s our seminar information and photos!  Register now! on line or send your check to Liz at Artful Endeavors.

Painting with Kathie George

We sure did pack in the painting with Kathie during our 3 days this year, each day different new techniques and skills.  I’ve painted with Kathie, learning batik, but each time I paint with her I learn something new, and this year was no exception.  And Kathie is such a patient, sharing person, giving her time and talents to everyone of us at her class. Once more a successful seminar.

And Kathie is taking some lucky painters on  a painting holiday to South Africa next April 12 -23, 2014.  Be sure to check out the details on Kathie’s web site.  You might just want to join her.

Here a just a few moments from our seminar. I was so absorbed with my painting that I didn’t get photos the first 2 days so here is our last day of fun. Love the ducks and the dyes. We’re making plans for more dye projects. What fun.  Notice the concentration and then smiles with the completed paintings.
