Liz Miller CDA: Artist and Instructor
web Liz 09-04-10

“Art and sharing art are my passions.  The natural world and the challenge of creating small slices of nature are my inspirations: the play of light on objects, capturing movement and shape, the mood of a moment. The colors of nature and their combinations are a constant inspiration.

Teaching decorative painting has introduced me to many wonderful individuals. Most of our students had no painting experience before starting classes with me and have continued on to become beautiful artists. Our classes are about sharing our love for art and the fellowship that comes from the sharing of a common interest.”

Painting realistic style in acrylics is Liz’s main artistic focus, but she also enjoys creating and experimenting with water colors, pastels, color pencils, and mixed media including watercolor batik.

She has taught decorative painting in the Raleigh, NC area since 1985 and currently teaches at the Creative Exchange Rolesville and on line.  Liz is a DecoArt Helping Artist.

Find Liz’s online classes and workshops on this web site and on Artful Endeavors on Face Book. Liz teaches workshops in person throughout the south east and online.

Liz has her BS in Nursing from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and her Master’s Degree in Dance Therapy from Hunter College in NYC. She has earned CDA, Certified Decorative Artist, status with the Society of Decorative Painting. She feels that sharing her artistic discoveries by teaching others is a natural progression, still providing for the mental and physical health of her students, through the creative art therapy of painting.

Liz’s artwork is on display at the permanent collection at the WaterWorks Gallery, in Salisbury NC and the Creative Exchange in Rolesville, NC.

Her project articles have been published in The Decorative Painter, the journal for the Society of Decorative Painters.
