A beautiful stream in the Tennessee mountains just over the line from North Carolina with trees providing dappled shade. This spot was right beside the road and caught my eye as I passed through. I couldn’t resist taking a photo and later being inspired to create a painting.
I’m always looking for a new challenge in a painting. I loved the depth in this scene and the textures of the leaves. Join me as I take you through my process to create this painting.
I’ve painted on an 8×10″ canvas but this would look wonderful in a larger size also. I’ve painted with DecoArt Americana Acrylic.

I hope to inspire your creativity while challenging you to increase your knowledge and skills. Attending the class is easy. The class is on Zoom and streamed to YouTube. You simply follow the link sent the week of class for the Zoom session. After the Live sessions the class is available on YouTube as video for those registered to view at their convenience. YouTube links will be sent after the live session.
When you register for the class prep, photo, and line drawing are emailed. All information for the class is included in the registration fee.
The videos are available for you to watch as many times as you would like, rewind, and view again. Ask questions in comments during class or send me an email after class. I’ll be glad to give critiques by email. Enjoy!
