Fonzie was a wonderful cat with a great personality… friendly, loving, and funny silly . He showed up at our house and decided to choose us as his fortunate humans. He was quickly a favorite of anyone coming to visit us. His yellow fur and matching eyes were so handsome that I had to paint him lounging around the house. And of course animals are one of my favorite painting subjects.
I’ve painted Fonzie in acrylic on a 9×12″ canvas but he would look equally handsome on most any surface. Just make sure you have done the appropriate prep for your surface. Our challenges in this painting are creating the life in Fonzie’s eyes, improving our dry brushing, and creating fur. I’ll use a filbert brush for most of the brush work finishing up with a rake/comb and liner.
