Winter Chickadee

Acrylic, 10″ round or 10×10″

Chickadees are one of my favorite birds. I love to watch these social cuties at the bird feeder and then as they flit off through the trees like mini acrobats. They are such fun to paint with their black cap and subtle chest coloring.

The workshop will begin as a Face Book Live on

Jan 27 and Feb 3, 11a-1p

but if you aren’t available those dates or those times you can still take the workshop. The videos are available for you to view at your convenience.

Join me for some painting fun as we play with a soft blurry background of snow and then add our fluffy feathered friend. Our challenge in the painting is creating the soft, cool temperature of falling snow around our chickadee. Our first week will include the fun background techniques that I’ve used. We’ll work on our bird the second week.

Workshops are offered as weekly classes to allow time for homework and learning. Critiques are encouraged and offered weekly. I’ll teach the art theory and technique for this painting. I hope to inspire your creativity while challenging you to increase your knowledge and skills.

Join us to learn about this fun background with all it’s snowy depth!

Paint along with me or watch as I demo and then go back to paint with the videos. I’m glad to repeat as many times as you would like to rewind the video.
🖌 The class is painted with DecoArt Americana acrylics using greys along with black and white. I’ve painted on a tin tray but you can choose any surface that you like. My surface was 10″ round.
